Local Non-Profit Needs a Truck

A locally-based non-profit known for sending care packages to our soldiers overseas is now providing free furniture for the homes of these soldiers upon their return.

Forgotten Soldiers Outreach has been taking donations out of its Furniture and Thrift Store in Greenacres and needs some help to continue doing so.

Forgotten Soldiers Executive Director Lynelle Chauncey Zelnar tells us her organization is looking for a $5,000 donation to allow them to purchase a used box truck or for a local dealership or car lot to donate a used truck in exchange for sponsorhip recognition.

URGENT NEED FOR A SPONSOR OF “BOX TRUCK” FOR

FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS OUTREACH FURNITURE & THRIFT STORE

Greenacres, FL  -  Last May, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach (“FSO”) expanded their mission by opening up a Furniture & Thrift Store, to not only help raise the much needed funds for the on-going mission of sending Monthly “We Care” packages to our troops serving overseas, but now assisting our veterans and returning soldiers in need, by providing them with FREE furnishings for their homes.

The community has been so outstanding with support in donating great household items, it has created FSO’s needs to grow, too.  As a result, FSO is in dire need of a Box Truck, either one to be donated, or seeking a $5,000 donation to allow us to purchase a used box truck.  The use is for pick ups and delivery of items.  “When we first started, we were scheduling pick ups 3 days a week, however, now to meet with the public demand we are providing pick ups/deliveries 6 days a week.  The rental of the Box Truck has been very costly, and it’s taking away from the proceeds that can be used towards the mission, says Lynelle Chauncey Zelnar, Executive Director and Founder of FSO.

Zelnar says that “In order for the store to continue to thrive in benefiting our troops overseas and our veterans at home, it’s critical we obtain our own truck. We really are looking for an angel to donate $5,000 to help us purchase a used truck, or for a local dealership to donate a vehicle to FSO. We would be happy to include them as a Sponsor of FSO and provide recognition.”

In addition, due to the amazing generosity of the community, FSO is opening up another store in the same plaza (Buttonwood Plaza, located at SE corner of 10th Avenue North and Jog Road in Greenacres) next door to Curves.  This store will include clothing, knick knack and overflow of furniture and children’s toys.

Please help us with this need. If you would like to be our “Special Angel”, please contact Lynelle Zelnar at the office at 561-369-2933 or store at 561-969-2222.
