A man wielding a crowbar was shot by a Palm Beach County deputy overnight in Lake Park.
At 3:10 a.m., deputies patrolling in the 1100 block of Old Dixie Highway encountered a man attempting to break into a vehicle. As a deputy approached the person, he found him to be wearing some type of black item concealing his face, gloves, black shirt, black pants and carrying a crowbar.
A PBSO deputy said he ordered the suspect, identified as 22 year old Perciel Hamilton to stop and to "let me see your hands" and to "get on the ground". The suspect turned toward the deputy and raised the crowbar, said a PBSO news release.
The deputy said he was in fear for his life discharged his firearm, striking Hamilton in the left arm.
