Recount in Palm Beach Shores Election

Recount in Palm Beach Shores Election

News of another recount in Palm Beach County, though this one isn't nearly as big as the ones in the past.

The town of Palm Beach Shores, on the southern end of Singer Island, re-elected its incumbent mayor on Tuesday, though John Workman beat Tom Mills by only a single vote.

That means all 489 votes will have to be recounted by hand, under state law.

That happens at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The town has around 1,100 full-time residents, but its population jumps to 5,000 during tourist season, according to the U-S Census.

The Palm Beach Post reports the mayor of Palm Beach Shores is a volunteer position.
