Palm Beach County's Teens & Risky Behaviors

More Palm Beach County public school students are binge drinking and using the drug Ecstasy than teens in other large school districts in the nation, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Youth Risk Behavior Survey measures national and statewide averages for teen risk behaviors.

Despite their rank among districts, in some categories, our students were in line with the national averages, including the 14.4 percent of girls who reported sexual dating violence.  Other behaviors are well below the national average, such as the 17.6 percent of local high schoolers who reported they used tobacco, which is an all-time low for the county.  The national average is 22.4 percent.

38.7 percent of Palm Beach County's teens report binge drinking.
